WOODWORKING FUNDAMENTALS (2 DAYS)
In this fundamental woodworking workshop we will help you
develop your skills, from the selection of wood, use of hand tools and
basic stationary tools. In addition, we will cover sharpening of your
hand tools, joinery, jigs and fixtures. This is a confidence-building
class for the novice or a refresher course for the more experienced
woodworker. Set-up and safe use of the tools found in the shop will be
covered.
NOTE: This class is an important prerequisite for additional
clsses that will be held. EG; Shaker Hall Table and Oak Wall Cabinet
Time will be spent using each of the following tools:

To reinforce your new skills you will build a cherry Shaker
style pedestal table. When you leave this class you should have the
confidence to move on to other woodworking projects. This is a hands-on
workshop.
Class size is now only six. With two instructors, my son Matt
(Artist, production manager and partner) and my self. This would allow
us to spend more time with each student.

BASIC CARPENTRY (1 DAY)
Learn how to lay out and build a typical interior and exterior
wall. Also included are framing and installation of interior and
exterior doors and window units. Drywall installation and finish will be
covered. Interior trim work, installation of base board, casing, stools
and crown molding will be demonstrated. You will learn:

KID'S STUFF (1 DAY)
This is a workshop for those kids who like to work with their
hands, or just thinks they might, and the adult that would like to spend
a fun day with a youngster. You will work together to build a bench
that you will take home. Kids, you can bring any adult with you (with
your parents' permission) that you want (Mom, Dad, Aunt, Uncle, Grandma,
Grandpa or just a good friend) but they do need to be over 21, and you
will have be responsible for any adult you bring. You will learn to use:

We will have a good time and you do not need any knowledge of
woodworking. All you need is the desire to share a little time with
someone else.

DOOR CONSTRUCTION (1 DAY)
Give your home a new look, in this seminar style-class. Receive
the information necessary to build your own custom exterior or interior
doors and jambs. You will learn:

learn sound, safe and efficient approaches to the craft and further
develop the basic skills in your own workshop. You will learn:

BOWL TURNING (1 DAY) Fundamentals
Once you start turning bowl you will be hooked. Whether natural
edge, green or dry you will enjoy seeing the finished product in just a
few minutes. You will also learn the following:

In this class you will need a working knowledge of woodturning

SHAKER OVAL BOX MAKING (2 DAYS)
Experience the antique tradition of authentic shaker oval boxes.
In a unique two-day class, use basic tools to make 5 authentic Shaker
boxes.
One of the most popular products of the Shaker communities,
oval boxes have enduring appeal. Originally produced for their
practicality of painted maple and pine, now produced for their simple
beauty of quarter-sawn cherry.
Students will produce boxes in a traditional manner using
cherry for box bands, tops and bottoms. A limited number of tools are
needed to make these boxes all of which are provided for use during the
class. Techniques taught in each class are:

SHAKER WALL CLOCK (2 DAY)
GOOD CLASS FOR AFTER WOODWORKING FUNDAMENTALS
In this two day class you can take your woodworking to another
level by making a clock case. In this class you will learn basic cabinet
making principles as you make a quartz pendulum wall clock in timeless
Shaker styling. Topics that will be covered are:

MOUNTING CLOCK MOVEMENTS·
In this class we will use the major tools in the shop. While not
as intense as the woodworking fundamentals class this is a good
exposure to shop techniques and tools - in addition to being a whole lot
of fun.

CHAIR BUILDING FUNDAMENTALS (2 DAYS)
NEW PRICE
This workshop provides an opportunity to learn skills that can
be used as a basis for chairmaking while building your own chair. During
this two-day class, you will gain enough knowledge and hands-on
experience to start you on the way to making your own chairs. The class
will emphasize the use of hand tools in creating an original design.

Class note: This class is for anyone that has a desire to learn
the basic uses of hand tools and chair building. For the novice
woodworker this class will be fun and enjoyable. There is time for you
to work at your own speed and plenty of help.

WOOD FINISHING (1 DAY)
Now that you have that special project all put together, how
will you finish it? We have spent many years searching out that perfect
finish and we will be sharing 30 years of winners and losers. We will
help you understand the finishes that are available to you, when to use
which finish and how to prep for a finish. We will cover the following
topics:

SANDING
LACQUERING
BLENDING FINISHES
ANTIQUE FINISH
USING FINISHES SAFELY ·
This is not just a seminar where we have all the fun. You will
have the opportunity to try out some finishes. Bring your question and
come ready to talk about your project.

ADVANCED WOODWORKING (2 DAYS)
This workshop is for those woodworkers that are ready to take
their skills to another level. We will review all the basics of
woodworking and move quickly on to the project at hand; a woodworker's
tool chest that should challenge you and will provide you with a useful
tool that every woodworker needs. For this class you will have to be
able to work alone using the tools in the shop. Drawings of the project
and cutting list will be provided. You will learn about:
READING AND MODIFYING PLANS
JIGS AND FIXTURES ·
TYPES OF JOINERY ·
DRAWER AND PANEL CONSTRUCTION ·
This is a class that will help you take on more difficult
projects and hone your skills. You may not finish your tool chest in
this weekend, but you will be so close that you will easily finish it at
home and put on those personal touches that will make it uniquely
yours.

Class note : There is no prerequisite for this workshop but we
feel that to benefit fully from this class, a full understanding of shop
tools is needed. Class size is limited to only six so that full
attention can be given to each student.

BUILDING YOUR OWN HOME
This workshop is designed for the person that is thinking about
building a home or having one built. During this class you will have the
opportunity to ask questions and find the answers in a non selling
environment. With over 50 years of combined building and construction
management we will able to give you insight from the builder's point of
view. Some of the topics to be covered:

ROUTER MAGIC (1 DAY)
Have you been wondering what you can do with that router you got
for Christmas, this year or maybe last year or.............you know
what I mean. Well, this is the class for you. Learn about:

SAFELY USING THE ROUTER
HOW TO MAKE SPECIAL MOLDINGS
For many years I only owned a,table saw,circular saw and
importantly a router. I was able to build many pieces of one of kind
furniture. Come and let me share with you my routing experiences.

SHAKER HALL TABLE (2 DAY)
After you have taken the fundimental class there is more fun to
have with this Friday evening and Saturday class. Over the next 12-14
hours you will build a popular table with your choice of top. You will
learn:
Mortise and tenon
Router uses in table construction
drawer construction
Reading drawings
You will have fun in this work at you pace class. You must have
woodworking experence or haven take our fundimental class. We will be
there to guide you but you will have to work hard to finish this project
on time.

OAK WALL CABINET (2 DAY)
This is another fun project for the woodworker with some
experience. You will build a wall cabinet that will look great in the
bath. But as always it is not the project it is the skill you will learn
for all those future project.

You will have fun in this work at you pace class. You must have
woodworking experience or haven take our fundamental class. We will be
there to guide you but you will have to work hard to finish this project
